Ojibwe Language Tables
What is a language table?
In 1998, a group of language teachers, elders and language students started an Ojibwe language table in Minneapolis, MN. They met weekly to share food, conversation in Ojibwemowin, and language lessons. Since then the language table concept has been replicated in similar format in many other places.
We enourage you to find and join a language table to encourage an Ojibwemowin speech community in your area. It's a good opportunity to practice speaking in a supportive environment. If there isn't a language table near you, consider starting one with your local elders and language teachers.
